Tachyus Announces New Leadership

Press Release — June 16, 2018

Tachyus co-founders Dakin Sloss and Paul Orland have taken on new roles with Dakin becoming Chairman and Paul becoming CEO; Jeri Eagan, former CFO of Shell Oil Co., is now President.

After five years of leading the company as CEO, Tachyus co-founder Dakin Sloss has become chairman. Tachyus co-founder Paul Orland, who has served as CTO for five years, now leads the team as CEO. Dakin and Paul founded Tachyus with a vision to build technology that delivers massive value to the industry that powers our world and contributes so much to human flourishing. Paul brings a tremendous technical depth and understanding of customer needs to drive the organization in its next steps.

“Dakin and I are tremendously proud of the team and technology that we’ve built together over the past five years,” said Paul Orland, Tachyus Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “I’m excited to lead us through the growth stage as we onboard and delight the world’s leading oil producers.”

Paul is joined in Tachyus senior leadership by former Shell executive Jeri Eagan who has joined full-time as President after contributing to Tachyus as an investor, advisor, and board member. Jeri will primarily focus on interfacing with customers and developing new strategic opportunities. She brings over 30 years of global oil industry experience to complete a leadership team with a combined 100+ years of operator and service company experience.

“I have worked with the Tachyus team since 2015 but now is the time to devote myself fully to our mission to empower oil and gas executives and engineers with data-driven workflows to most effectively deploy and manage capital,” said Jeri Eagan, Tachyus President. “I am thrilled to join this talented management team under Paul’s leadership.”

Tachyus’ breakthrough technology, Data Physics, combines reservoir physics and machine learning to rapidly integrate all relevant data sources in real-time to explore millions of scenarios and identify the optimal injection, completion, and drilling plans. Oil producers leverage Tachyus to evaluate complex trade-offs between reservoir, operational and economic constraints within a single unified multi-objective optimization platform.

The Data Physics approach helps to optimize mature fields across horizontal and vertical distribution of injectant, and infill drilling. Additionally, operators deploy Tachyus to detect abnormal well performance, prioritize stimulation opportunities, and design completions in unconventional reservoirs. Every partnership has produced at least a 200% ROI.
